On April 19, 1943, the 20th deportation convoy from Belgium to Auschwitz left the Malines transit camp with 1,631 Jewish men and women. 236 of the deportees managed to jump from the train thanks to a unique act of resistance in Nazi-occupied Western Europe.
Historians Laurence Schram (Kazerne Dossin) and Daniel Thilman (C2DH), as well as Henri Juda (second-generation witness), will discuss the history of the camp, the 20th convoy, and the fate of Jews from Luxembourg deported to Malines.
