Round table of the Arlon multi-conviction group
Religions, philosophies, and secular movements in Arlon are gathering to reflect on the topic: Freedom of Expression Tested by Truth. Perspectives from religious and philosophical movements on freedom of expression in the age of social networks and post-truth.
As social networks simplify and amplify public speech, algorithms shape access to information, and lies seem increasingly used and less sanctioned, freedom of expression appears both broader and more fragile than ever. This evening will question the link between freedom of speech, responsibility in communication, and the relationship to truth in the public and digital spaces. Representatives from religious and philosophical movements will offer their perspectives, drawing on their thought traditions, practices, and contemporary debates. Afterwards, a debate with the audience will take place to reflect together on the conditions for free, responsible, and meaningful public discourse in our digital societies.
