Cazaar is a work discovered by Amaury Louis (marcel) and Pierre Leroy (Pierres) on the Saint-Donat hill in Arlon, while they were looking for an idea for a commission from Aralunaires. This unusual text, translated from a forgotten language, seems to come from a time when myth was close to farce. Moved by this discovery, Amaury and Pierre composed music mixing sweet melodies, surprising dissonances, and very varied influences – from the Beatles to Brigitte Fontaine, from the Red Army Choir to Bertrand Belin. Thus was born Mesozoic pop.
On stage, the text of Cazaar is read aloud and interspersed with original pieces, performed by Amaury and Pierre, alongside other well-known figures of the Walloon scene: Audrey Marot (Annabel Lee), Aurélien Auchain (Mountain Bike), Catherine De Biasio (Blondy Brownie), and Flora Morelle (DC Lou).
The mystery of Cazaar remains. The word conjures both the Arabic 'kazar' (fortress) and the historical French 'alcazar', venues for shows and light. Coincidence or not, it also echoes 'quasar', a luminous black hole, as a metaphor for a quest for inner clarity – an alternative light to the sun when boredom lurks in the midst of happiness.
