Lake Street Dive are known for their playful, cross-pollinated blend of neo-soul and pop/rock, building a loyal fan base by weaving elements of jazz, folk, and funk into their sound. Showcasing vocalist Rachael Price, Lake Street Dive emerged from Boston's New England Conservatory in the mid-2000s and drew early praise for their exuberant live shows and inventive original songs. They gained even more attention with their 2012 covers EP 'Fun Machine' and followed up with 'Bad Self Portraits' in 2014, which broke into the Top 20 of the Billboard 200. The 2016 album 'Side Pony' topped three Billboard charts, and their music has continued to evolve, mixing vintage funk and soul with feminist, socially conscious messages as on 2018's 'Free Yourself Up' and 2021's 'Obviously'. In 2022, they released the covers EP 'Fun Machine: The Sequel', before returning to a soul-infused sound and original songs on 2024's 'Good Together'.
