Resulting from a collaboration between KIOSK in Ghent and Konschthal Esch, "Anatomies of Use" is the first exhibition where Konschthal joins forces with a neighboring partner, continuing its mission to support Luxembourgish artists. Initiated by Simon Delobel, director of KIOSK, with the co-curation of Charlotte Masse, the exhibition continues the reflection begun with the solo exhibition "Phantom Limbs" at Konschthal Esch in 2024, exploring the uses, transformations, and diversions of everyday objects.

For this solo exhibition in Belgium, the Mexican and Japanese artist Hisae Ikenaga presents about twenty works, mixing existing pieces and new productions. The title "Anatomies of Use" refers to the subtle shifts structuring her practice: changes in function, status, and meaning. Industrial and domestic objects are transformed; their use is suspended, their familiarity unsettled—giving rise to hybrid assemblages that question uses and narratives.

A new series of ceramics inspired by industrial rolling cylinders and the short film "Soft Dissection" are among the new works on display.
