Ouni d’Léift geet et net. This is the law that drives the summer society in Anton Tchekhov's famous play D’Méi̱w. Yet, the people who meet by a lake and get stuck between apathy and intensity don't truly connect – their wishes are too different, the generational conflicts too great, and their ideas of what a meaningful life is are incompatible.
The rebellious Konstantin brings a revolutionary play he has prepared with his great love, Nina. However, his mother and her lover – a successful author – have very different ideas about happiness, pleasure, struggle, and compromise than the young couple. For the first time ever, this Tchekhov classic can be discovered in modern Luxembourgish, through a staged reading by four actors focusing on the serious and human aspects of the text.
