In this workshop, participants will build a "little woodpecker," a simple electromechanical construction that produces rhythmic knocking sounds. The machine is made of plywood and includes a solar cell, a small motor, and a few electronic components that participants will solder themselves. Controlled by the electronics, the motor rhythmically strikes a small wooden stick, creating a knocking sound reminiscent of a woodpecker. As the machines are powered by solar cells, the knocking activity changes depending on the daylight. Anyone who enjoys tinkering can participate, from the age of 8. Younger children may join together with their parents. No prior soldering experience is required.

During the workshop, small sound sculptures created with school classes over the previous three days will also be on display. Some of the participants from these workshops will also be present and will take part in the mediation activities.
