For a long time, books have told stories using words and images. But some artists had a funny and curious idea: what if the book itself became a work of art? A book to look at, touch, sometimes even listen to or walk through!

In the exhibition ΙΣΤΟΣ / WEB – Contemporary Artists’ Books, artists ask: what is the purpose of a book today, when we spend so much time on screens? Can it still surprise us? Can it make us dream differently? Here, the entire building transforms into a giant magical book. You’ll find drawings, videos, sculptures, photos and even digital works. Sometimes, words become images, and sometimes images tell stories without words. Artists from Luxembourg and Greece created these works, and real artist books from the National Library are also there to show that books can take many forms. This exhibition invites children (and adults!) to open their eyes and imagination wide, and discover that reading is not just turning pages... it’s also about living an adventure!
