A major figure in Luxembourgish sculpture, Lucien Wercollier distinguished himself through a constant quest for purity and formal perfection. Marked by the experience of concentration camps, the artist chose to exclude all violence from his work and focus on a poetic and serene expression. His travels were the driving force for rigorous technical exploration, leading him to sublimate diverse materials: from Carrara marble during his architectural period to alabaster works with an organic and sensual presence.
This exhibition offers an aesthetic journey in search of beauty and simplicity. Through this guided tour, we invite you to (re)discover the journey of an tireless seeker whose work, combining historical rigor and voluptuous forms, remains a key reference in modern art.
