Together with Luxembourgish actress, singer and performer Sascha Ley and sound poet Mitch Heinrich, the Cologne-based collective SONIQ presents a program that reinterprets literary texts beyond traditional readings. Salman Rushdie, a passionate supporter of freedom of expression, serves as the inspiration for this project with his latest novel, Victory City. This work blends Indian mythology and history in a fantastical universe while addressing contemporary issues like power, its abuse, the role of women, and India's geopolitical status. Sascha Ley and Mitch Heinrich create, around Victory City, a performance where the texts are spoken, sung, set to music, and theatrically performed in constant interaction with musicians, resulting in a complete linguistic and musical artwork.

In English and German, with a touch of Kannada (the language of the Indian state of Karnataka).
