Join us for an exclusive screening of The President's Cake (Arabic OV with English subtitles), the powerful debut feature film by Iraqi director Hasan Hadi. Presented at the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes in 2025, this rare cinematic work combines fairy-tale poetry with the harsh reality of a complex historical context. A moving story highlighting the strength of love and friendship in the darkest of times. Synopsis: In 1990s Iraq, 9-year-old Lamia must bake the President's birthday cake, scrambling to find ingredients for this compulsory task while risking punishment if she fails.
