Ballet national de Marseille (LA)HORDE
In their latest creation, (LA)HORDE – the visionary collective directing Ballet national de Marseille – explores our physical and emotional responses to today’s abundance of digital content. This choreographic journey questions how virtual identities permeate our physical world, influencing behaviours, desires, and social interactions. Dancers navigate a scenographic portal revealing parallel universes where bodies clash, defend, escape, embrace and celebrate. The movement vocabulary fuses digital aesthetics, from video game avatars to viral TikTok choreography, with patterns from jazz, post-modern dance and musicals, creating a mesmerizing doom-scroll effect. Audiences are invited to explore the complex interplay of identity, media and contemporary norms in a world where reality and simulation increasingly converge.
