With her golden hair and crystalline tone, Janine Jansen is set to shine alongside her longtime partner Denis Kozhukhin. The bright and lively sounds of Ludwig van Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 3 contrast with the more mature lyricism of his Violin Sonata No. 10. As a child, Sergei Prokofiev listened to his mother play Beethoven on the piano. Much of Prokofiev's music refers to earlier eras. The Violin and Piano Sonata No. 1 is inspired by the Baroque period—a blend of old and new.
