Romeo and Juliet have inspired generations of artists and composers. For Sergei Prokofiev, the names of Romeo and his famous lover Juliet are at the origin of his renowned masterpiece, written on the eve of the Second World War, a ballet later presented in a series of virtuoso orchestral suites. At this concert, the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg invites you to discover the first of these arrangements, presented alongside Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4, a bold composition that captivated audiences at the beginning of the 19th century. This concert is a tribute to Their Royal Highnesses Grand Duke Jean and Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte.
