Why not set out to meet the mysterious Fools of Vianden? A concert for the whole family featuring music, legends, and a medieval atmosphere where you’ll discover a story that’s as original as it is festive! Perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Our Valley, Vianden Castle is home to a legend born in the outskirts of the medieval town: the Fools of Vianden. In this concert designed for the whole family, conductor Pavel Baleff and narrator Milla Trausch take us on a journey through the cobblestone streets of northern Luxembourg for a warm and unique afternoon. A concert a little different from the usual classical concerts: present throughout the performance, the narrator accompanies the music and, in particular, allows children to enjoy a more immersive and accessible experience of classical music. These “Fools,” as the villagers nicknamed them, were true artists, whose talent constantly surprised even those who thought they knew them well. Both painters and musicians, our merry troubadours took on different roles depending on the events at the citadel. Without them, the village festivals would not have had the same charm. This musical tale, tailor-made from an existing musical repertoire, honors these multifaceted characters and brings back to life the festive spirit of villages of yesteryear.
