Baroque noon: Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre

What a beautiful tribute to this brilliant composer! Published in the magazine Mercure Galant in 1691, the author fictitiously attributes it to Jean-Baptiste Lully, who writes his compliments from the Champs Élysées in the kingdom of the dead. But the French composer and harpsichordist also, and above all, receives praise from the living, notably Louis XIV and Madame de Montespan. One of the first women to compose an entire opera, she also composed, during her exceptional career, pieces for solo harpsichord that Anne-Catherine Bucher invites you to discover in this commentary concert.
