Raphaël Pichon and Pygmalion take you on a journey through time. Psalms, hymns, prayers: Raphaël Pichon conceived this concert as an imaginary liturgy, blending works by Monteverdi, Cavalli, Schütz, Praetorius and Scheidt to recreate the unique atmosphere of early 17th-century Europe, a vibrant era when composers often imitated one another. The finale is a Magnificat that Pichon himself created from the works of seven different composers. Unconventional, but magical nonetheless.
