Dance Improvisation: Exploring a Repertoire Work
Course: Dance Improvisation: Exploring a Repertoire Work
This course is designed for individuals who wish to both dance and discover the history of dance. "The Rite of Spring" by Nijinsky will serve as the starting point: we will explore its corporeal, aesthetic, and symbolic stakes.
Based on this historical material, the sessions will offer playful and guided improvisations, allowing participants to revisit certain key principles of a famous choreography (spatiality, rhythm, intention, quality of presence), while providing everyone with the opportunity to develop their own bodily expression.
This course offers a lively way to initiate oneself into the great works of the 20th century and to understand artistic choices through the body, transforming them into sensitive and personal experiences. A way to enter the history of dance while enriching one's individual movement practice.
