The Centre for Documentation on Human Migration (CDMH), in collaboration with the Federation of Cape Verdean Associations of Luxembourg (FACVL), the National Audiovisual Centre (CNA) and the City of Dudelange, invites you to the premiere of the documentary film “UNATTENDED – A recurring event”.
Directed by Aleida Vieira and Bernardino Tavares, this film follows the journeys of Cape Verdean families between Cape Verde, Portugal and Luxembourg.
Through their testimonies, the film shows that migratory journeys are often complex and full of unforeseen events. A first departure can lead to others, with changes sometimes chosen, sometimes imposed, and paths that evolve over time.
The documentary addresses concrete realities: work, language, school, family, adapting to a new country, and the place one finds there. It also sheds light on what is not always seen behind migration journeys, including the difficulties, hopes, and new opportunities.
🗣️ Languages: Cape Verdean Creole, Portuguese, and French (with French subtitles) - Debate in French
👥The screening will be followed by a discussion with the following speakers:
