What if you could stand in the very spot where Europe decided to abolish its borders?
Join us for an afternoon in Schengen, a small village in the Moselle region at the crossroads of Luxembourg, France, and Germany, one of the most symbolic places in modern European history. This isn't a lecture. No stage, no slides, no keynote speaker. Just a group of curious people, a passionate guide, and one of Europe's most compelling stories to explore together.
We will begin with a guided tour of the monuments and outdoor spaces that recount the history of the 1985 Schengen Agreement, the bold text that abolished internal border controls in Europe. Our guide will show us the Schengen Agreement Monument, the Columns of Nations, and a section of the Berlin Wall—all eloquent testaments to what cooperation and political courage can achieve.
Then comes the highlight of the show: we board the Prinzessin Marie-Astrid Europa, the original ship on which the Schengen Agreement was signed on June 14, 1985, for an aperitif on deck. Let's raise our glasses to this place steeped in history.
Next, explore the museum at your own pace, for an immersive journey through the past, present and future of a borderless Europe, with themes such as freedom of movement, identity and cooperation brought to life through multimedia and personal testimonies.
