A look at the Minett landscape. Among the major transformations that have taken place for over 150 years in the Minett region, the fundamental reshaping of the landscape was undoubtedly the most spectacular. After rural areas and woodland landscapes were partly destroyed by heavy industry, a large-scale recomposition of the lands freed by the end of the steel industry took place. The major moments of the industrial landscape and its current potential will be explored with historian Luciano Pagliarini and architect Jean Goedert. In his conference, Luciano Pagliarini will focus on industrialization in the 19th and 20th centuries in the south of the country and show the consequences of ore extraction and processing on the landscape. Jean Goedert will discuss the consequences of the steel crisis, the conversion of large industrial wastelands and the heritage left by industry.
