"De l’origine du monde" was originally an exploration of parenthood started in 2020. After a first triptych of documentary shows about mothers, fathers, and children, Raphaëlle Bouvier and Charlotte Perrin de Boussac wanted to speak personally about their experience of motherhood and break down the clichés of polite, measured, gentle, and modest mothers with immense imagination.
At the heart of this fourth and final section, the authors leave documentary theater behind to deliver a raw, joyful, and roaring voice. Between moments of happiness and admissions of powerlessness, this show celebrates the freedom to throw off expectations and finally take a deep breath.
