Shadow of Water - Exposition sonore
An internationally renowned Japanese artist, Tetsuya Umeda has developed a unique practice at the intersection of installation, performance, and sound art. His work draws on the specific characteristics of the sites where he creates, incorporating pre-existing elements related to the environment, the functions, and the architecture of the exhibition spaces.
In addition to his presentations in museums and art institutions, he creates numerous site-specific works, rooted in both urban and natural contexts. His performances, presented in Japan and internationally, take various forms: itineraries inviting the public to explore little-known spaces, staged pieces exploring the mechanisms and functions of theater, or choral projects without a central focal point.
A leading figure in sound art, Tetsuya Umeda has established himself as one of the most innovative artists of his generation in this field.
