As recommendation algorithms saturate our daily lives, both personal and professional, studies converge: the “attention war” weakens our ability to concentrate and fosters apathy. While this phenomenon affects us all, it is particularly detrimental to young people, whose brains are still developing.
However, nothing is inevitable. Methods of transmission exist to reclaim this precious "available brain time." Jean Lou Fourquet, a specialist in these issues, will offer suggestions for rekindling the joy of learning and learning to manage the frustration inherent in any intellectual effort. Beyond pure knowledge, the goal is to place values of solidarity, moderation, and slowness back at the heart of education, in opposition to the cult of immediacy and individualism.
With the participation of: Jean-Lou Fourquet, trainer and content creator specializing in the attention war waged by major tech companies. He is also co-author of the book *The Dictatorship of Algorithms*, co-written with Lê Nguyên Hoang, which analyzes how recommendation algorithms favor divisive and sensational content and how we can build a recommendation system that serves the public interest.
