13th Contemporary Art Biennial
The 13th Contemporary Art Biennial of Strassen is themed: '175: a number - an amount - an age - a period - a locality - an identity'. 31 artists have been selected and 92 works will be exhibited. Since its creation in 2001 by the Strassen Culture Commission, this event has contributed to the region’s cultural influence, fostering encounters between artists and the public and highlighting contemporary artistic creation in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Greater Region.
The jury regularly welcomes new members to ensure diversity and quality in the selection, which is conducted anonymously. The competition is open to artists in painting, sculpture, photography and installation from Luxembourg and the Greater Region, without age limit. Priority is given to originality, technical skill and professionalism of the proposed works, privileging a highly eclectic selection.
The Biennial has become a major event on the local and cross-border art scene.
