Eleven students from the 2E art class at Lycée Aline Mayrisch, in collaboration with Luxembourg artist Mike Bourscheid, explored the themes of love, horror, and monsters from both an interdisciplinary and personal perspective. Their work examines questions of identity, gender roles, societal expectations, and the challenges of adolescence. Inspired by shared texts, film trailers, artistic works, and feminist and surrealist influences, the students created videos, costumes, and sculptures. Their creations portray monsters as complex figures and explore horror as an opportunity for transformation, protection, and empowerment. The artworks address longing, uncertainty, beauty ideals, loss, belonging, and self-discovery.
