GET OUT Squatfabrik #3 // Noé Duboutay & Vica Pacheco
- artist
- show
Noé Duboutay is a performer, writer and installation artist. His work draws on historical and fictional narratives, incorporating imagery and language from various time periods. Duboutay does not approach queer historiography as a definitive account, but rather as a speculative, embodied practice. It is a quest to unearth the things and people who have been silenced or systematically erased. Drawing on their experiences of having a transmasculine body, they question and navigate the societal implications of masculinity, patriarchy and heteronormativity. While offering a critique, Duboutay’s work also seeks to foster queer allyship and kinship, focusing on vulnerability as a means of resistance and connection. Vica Pacheco (Ana Victoria Pacheco) is a musician and a sound and visual artist. Her multidisciplinary practice spans several disciplines, including experimental music, composition, ceramics and 3D animation. Often described as eclectic and energetic, her work is a meditation on transformation and the delicate balance between fragility and strength. It explores mythological crossbreeding and the interactions between humans and non-humans. Her creative journey is intricately woven together by three elements: ceramics, music and performance. Employing a syncretic approach, she blends pre-Hispanic, archaic and contemporary technologies with heterogeneous elements to create immersive sound performances and installations.
