Belgium is densely populated and its landscape is particularly fragmented. In this context, gardens that promote biodiversity combine with nature reserves to form a vast ecological network that allows species to circulate. Comprised of native species and featuring specific layouts (ponds, composts, hedgerows, etc.), the gardens in the Réseau Nature are more resilient to extreme weather phenomena caused by climate change. In addition to their aesthetic value, they contribute to efficient management of green waste, reduce reliance on fossil fuel-related tools, and encourage local farming of fruits and vegetables. They also help develop a high-quality nursery sector and foster neighborly relations. Dozens of members of the Réseau Nature are opening their natural gardens for free throughout Wallonia and Brussels. In the Pays d’Arlon, ten natural gardens will be accessible. Discover these beautiful natural spaces mainly composed of native species and talk to gardeners about special features. Come meet enthusiasts and share experiences, knowledge, and techniques on the theme of gardens that welcome biodiversity.

Bon à savoir
