In 2257, the C-57D spacecraft travels to Altair IV to rescue an expedition from which no news has been received for twenty years. As they approach the planet, Morbius, one of the few survivors, warns them: the planet harbors an unsuspected threat… 1956 American film directed by Fred M. Wilcox, starring Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis, and Leslie Nielsen. Nominated for an Oscar in 1957 for Best Special Effects.
