During the Second World War, artist Stephanie Claes' grandmother was deported and imprisoned in Ravensbrück concentration camp. Those months of cold, hunger, and mistreatment forever changed her life and that of her descendants. Through her drawings and archival images, Stephanie Claes illustrates the lasting impact of these events on three generations of women, and how this cycle was finally broken. In an intimate and highly visual way, the artist expresses, without words, the silent pain that passes through families.
