This year, the Cinémathèque of the City of Luxembourg celebrates 40 years of City Open Air Cinema, an unmissable event for summer evenings. Since 1986, the Cinémathèque has brought open-air cinema to various corners of the capital: Cour des Capucins, the forecourt of the grand ducal Palace, drive-in at the Glacis... and this year, a novelty! The screen also sets up on the charming Léon XIII square in Bonnevoie for three friendly evenings under the stars. On August 6 at 9:15 pm, dive back into the 80s with La Boum by Claude Pinoteau. For those who may have forgotten the story (or simply want to relive it): at 13, Vic discovers the first feelings of love, friendships, parties, and the small dramas of adolescence, with her great-grandmother as a precious confidante. Revealing Sophie Marceau to the general public and carried by the unforgettable hit Reality, this great French classic continues to melt hearts, generation after generation.

Seats will be provided and allocated on a "first come, first served" basis. However, designated areas will allow those who wish to sit with their own chairs, blankets, or other accessories to enjoy the screening comfortably. In case of rain, the screenings will proceed. Spectators are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing to enjoy the screening, even under a few raindrops. Come early and enjoy a convivial "aperitif" moment before the screenings starting at 8:30 PM. Whether at 'Knuedler' or in Bonnevoie, spectators can have a drink, relax, and share a moment with other cinema lovers before the magic of the big screen begins.
