Show & CultureShow & CulturePresentation and reading of "An Almost Perfect Crime". Carine Hazan presents a thrilling and humorous crime novel about matrilineality. Both author and screenwriter, Carine Hazan takes inspiration from a letter written by her grandmother, recounting the meeting with a German man in the Australian Alps in 2003, to create a captivating thriller: Vies et survies d’Elisabeth Halpern (Phébus, 2025). This crime story blends the fictional murder of a former Nazi officer with the life story of her grandmother, a Jewish woman born in Ukraine who settled in Australia. The author explores the difference between acts of vengeance and justice, as well as the transmission of trauma across generations. Moderated by Fatima Rougi.
