Although the current kiosk in the Place d'Armes has only existed since 1933, a kiosk has already stood on the square since 1875, welcoming brass bands, harmonies, jazz and classical music ensembles, big bands and other ambient music. The events, and in particular the concerts in the Place d'Armes, therefore have a long tradition. Where in the middle of the 19th century, military concerts were a regular event, today a wide variety of musicians perform, to the delight of the public comfortably seated on one of the many terraces that line the square, in the shade, under the big plane trees.
