In "Les corps avalés", seven dancers are seized by an intoxicating musical vortex that runs through them as much as it carries them away. Following "Sans quoi nous crèverons", Virginie Brunelle returns with a work built on friction. Intimately attuned to the Molinari Quartet’s score, the Quebec-born choreographer weaves an intensely physical choreographic language, letting the strings seep into the slightest tremors of movement. Guided by the bows, bodies tip from one point of balance to the next, surrender to an embrace, or abruptly tear away from it. Through these opposing impulses, a humanity gradually takes shape—caught in the turmoil of our times, yet unwilling to relinquish tenderness: an act of quiet resistance held against the noise.
