After years of fear, deprivation, and uncertainty, residents could finally go outside, meet each other, smile, and hope again. Soldiers from far away crossed our villages, welcomed by a grateful and deeply moved population. For a day, military vehicles, uniforms, the American camp, and 1940s music will immerse us in the atmosphere of the Liberation. Beyond the reenactment, this day will mainly be a time to remember, share, and pay tribute to those who fought for our freedom. Put on your dresses, suspenders, hats, and vintage outfits: clothing inspired by the 1940s is encouraged! Because freedom is never just an ordinary word. Because memory is shared and passed on. Join us to celebrate the Liberation of our village.
Good to know
From 5:00 p.m.: parade through the village streets, an exhibition of military vehicles on Rue des Promenades, a US World War II camp, a refreshment bar and food. From 7:30 p.m.: a grand Liberation Ball to the rhythm of 1940s music. The evening will end with fireworks at nightfall.
