TIME IS COLOR is the project of pianist, composer and producer Cédric Hanriot. A presence on the international contemporary jazz scene, he has collaborated with artists including Herbie Hancock, Dianne Reeves, Terri Lyne Carrington, Donny McCaslin and Ibrahim Maalouf. He notably contributed as pianist and sound designer to Dianne Reeves’ Grammy Award-winning album Beautiful Life. With TIME IS COLOR, Cédric Hanriot explores the connections between jazz, hip-hop and neo-soul. The project combines harmonic richness and the freedom of improvisation with the energy of urban music and precise writing. Performed by four musicians, the music blends piano, bass and drums with electronic textures and sound creation. It creates a cinematic universe in which virtuosity serves emotion and rhythm. The first two TIME IS COLOR albums received a « CHOC » from Jazz Magazine and five stars from BBC Music Magazine. The project was also among MOJO Magazine’s ten best albums of 2022.
