Knobil is the project of Lausanne-based double bassist, singer and composer Louise Knobil. At the crossroads of jazz, post-bop and French chanson, she turns her diary into compositions full of humour and freedom, featuring love stories, insomnia and pesto recipes. Influenced in particular by Esperanza Spalding, Charles Mingus and Boris Vian, she develops a distinctive universe driven by double bass and voice. Joined by Chloé Marsigny on bass clarinet and Fabien Ghirotto on drums, she brings inventive, spontaneous and deeply personal music to life.
