As part of the “Introduction to Art History” series, this talk is dedicated to Birgit Jürgenssen (1949–2003), a major figure of the Viennese and international feminist avant-garde. Through drawings, photographs, objects and performances, her work ironically deconstructs prejudices and models assigned to women, questioning gender norms.
