Every Wednesday, the KnowEdge community gathers to practise house dance and develop its dancers’ potential. Open Floor: House Dance is a jam where participants dance freely to house music, in a welcoming space bringing together amateurs and professionals, sometimes with a DJ. House dance is an improvised social dance born in Chicago and New York clubs in the 1970s and 1980s. It blends salsa, capoeira, tap dance and bboying, with fast steps, bounces and floorwork.
