Jemp Schuster reads from his new novel “Spawecken”, accompanied by music from Claire Parsons. The novel is set in the fictional village of Schëldref. At the heart of the story is an old tree, the Ampeljong: young Karel falls from it one day and remains hanging in a large “Spaweck”. At the age of 17, another accident completely changes his life. In 1988, lightning strikes the tree, leading to an unexpected discovery connected to the Thirty Years’ War.
