On the occasion of UNESCO’s International Geodiversity Day, the Luxembourg Commission for UNESCO and Activize are holding a panel discussion on critical raw materials and the potential of the subsoil in the energy transition. The event will address European extraction, processing and recycling targets, the resources of the Greater Region, and the challenges of mining revival, industrial sovereignty and social acceptance. Speakers include Sophie Decrée and Christian Burlet, geologists at the Geological Survey of Belgium; Robert Colbach, Director of Luxembourg’s Geological Survey; and Alexandre Nominé, researcher at the University of Lorraine (Mines Nancy). The conference will be followed by a discussion with the audience and a networking session.
