Princess Odette has been transformed into a swan by the sorcerer Rotbart. Only a promise of eternal love can break the spell. When she meets Prince Siegfried, he vows to free her, but Rotbart intends to thwart their plans. Liam Scarlett’s production for The Royal Ballet combines Tchaikovsky’s score with John Macfarlane’s staging in a ballet spectacle about love, betrayal and forgiveness.
