A look at Romanesque art: the legacy of Éditions Zodiaque

Founded at Sainte-Marie de la Pierre-qui-Vire Abbey in 1951, Éditions Zodiaque made a major contribution to the rediscovery of Romanesque art in the second half of the 20th century. Designed to accompany visits to Romanesque churches and sites, its publications give photography a prominent place. From lighting to the choice of viewing angles, their visual presentation enhances the spiritual dimension of these buildings and contributes to an ideal definition of Romanesque architecture. Monk and artist Dom Angelico Surchamp was its true driving force. The lecture is given by Cédric Lesec, Director of External Relations and Distribution at the Musée des Confluences in Lyon and a doctoral student at the École Pratique des Hautes Études in Paris.
