Comedy in progress about family, distance and being mistaken for a condiment. Charlie Stevens is testing his first one-hour solo show. Charlie Stevens is a textbook study in blandness — the kind of straight white guy who was clearly designed in a hurry. He grew up in a family allergic to seasoning and has been mistaken for a condiment more than once. He also left England at the age of eight and never really went back. More than twenty years and three countries later, his father is retired, his sister is pregnant and his grandfather recently gave him a lot to think about — and Charlie is discovering most of these things at the end of a phone line. Unseasoned Chicken Breast is a one-hour show about the true price of building a life elsewhere. About a family drifting apart and continuing to be drawn back toward one another. This is a work-in-progress performance. Charlie is testing new sections of the show ahead of its full premiere in Brussels in October — expect a few rough edges, a few improvised detours without notes, and the rare opportunity to watch an hour-long show take shape in real time.
