Open Floor: House Dance is a dance jam where you can practice freely to house music. It’s an inclusive space where amateurs and professionals gather and enjoy a friendly time together, sometimes with a DJ. House dance is a social dance to house music blending salsa, capoeira, tap-dance, bboying, etc. It appeared in the 1970s and 1980s in Chicago and New York clubs. The house dance practiced here is improvised and focuses on fast, complex movements, bounces, and floorwork. Open to all levels.
