or the final day of nu:notes festival, the organisers are joining forces with De Läbbel for an evening dedicated to hip-hop. The festival takes a look at the music that has grown alongside jazz, crossed paths with it and taken inspiration from it. Hip-hop and jazz have been closely connected from the beginning ; through rhythm, sampling, improvisation, production and a shared history of pushing musical boundaries. This evening explores that connection by bringing together artists from the US, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Conway the Machine & Daringer (US) Reject II 10th Anniversary Tour One of the defining voices of the modern underground rap scene, Conway the Machine is known for his raw delivery, detailed storytelling and uncompromising lyricism. A central figure of the Griselda movement, his sound draws heavily from classic East Coast hip-hop while remaining firmly rooted in the present. In 2015, Conway and producer Daringer released Reject II, a landmark project that became one of the defining records of the Griselda sound. Ten years later, the two reunite to bring Reject II to the stage for a special one-time-only anniversary tour. William LX & Don D (LU/NL) The Luxembourgish Dutch duo brings their own take on contemporary rap, combining sharp flows with production rooted in boom-bap and underground hip-hop. Their sound is built around dusty samples and often sparse or drum less beats, while leaving room for more unconventional and experimental textures. Bobby Bieles (LU) A familiar voice and longtime presence in Luxembourg’s hip-hop scene, Bobby Bieles brings his experience as both a DJ and radio host to the decks. His sets bridge generations of hip-hop, moving naturally between timeless rap classics, underground cuts and contemporary sounds, with a selection driven by a deep knowledge of the culture.
