19th CinEast Tribute to Ildikó Enyedi & “On Body and Soul”

Show & Culture

CinEast welcomes award-winning Hungarian filmmaker Ildikó Enyedi, President of the International Jury of the festival’s 19th edition, for a special screening of “On Body and Soul”, followed by an extended Q&A with the director. Set in a Budapest slaughterhouse, the film follows reserved quality controller Mária and her solitary boss Endre, who discover that they share the same dreams: two deer meeting in a snow-covered forest. It explores loneliness, intimacy and human connection with delicate humour and lyrical imagery. The film won the Golden Bear and the FIPRESCI Prize at the 2017 Berlinale, and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
