MARKETS ACROSS THE CITY

MARKETS ACROSS THE CITY
Winterlights illuminate the city with thousands of lights, chalets, sparkling decorations, delicacies, and artisanal products throughout the Upper Town and the Station district. This year, a few new illuminations have been added to F.D. Roosevelt Boulevard, at the entrance to Grand-Rue, Place d'Armes, and Place de la Constitution. Nearly 1.3 million lights will make the capital shine 🥹
But before you lose yourself in the magic, here's a quick tour of the markets so you don't miss a thing:
LËTZEBUERGER CHRËSCHTMAART – Place d'Armes
First stop, and not the least: Place d'Armes and its traditional Christmas tree! Around it, 38 chalets huddle together like a small village, with a nativity scene under the bandstand, a gourmet area sheltered from the cold where you can treat yourself, and rides that make children's eyes light up 🚂
The perfect place to slowly get into the magical Winterlights spirit 🫶🏻
WANTERMAART - Place de la Constitution
We continue our stroll at the foot of the Gëlle Fra, where the Wantermaart brings together 40 chalets in a bright and festive atmosphere!
You can't miss the 13-meter golden Christmas tree decorated with firefly garlands, the large pyramid, or the 32-meter Ferris wheel, which offers an incredible view of the Petrusse Valley and is clearly one of the must-see attractions 🎡
WANTERPARK - Kinnekswiss
Next, head to Kinnekswiss: the large outdoor ice rink. Perfect for skating with the family, trying out a few tricks (or just staying upright, which is already quite an achievement) ⛸️
After skating, take a stroll through the food village and its 5 chalets to recharge your batteries... 😋 In the evening, after your pirouettes on the ice, you can also hit the dance floor with a music program featuring more than 30 DJs sets!
NIKLOSMAART - Place de Paris
Smaller but full of charm, Niklosmaart has 14 chalets offering sweet and savory delicacies (much to our delight) 🫕☕️🥨 In the center, a sparkling 22-meter tree (nicknamed Niklosbam) lights up the entire square ✨ But also: over 80 musical events not to be missed!
And if your children have been good, Saint Nicholas will welcome them into his little house by the fireside on November 22, 23, 25, 27, and 29, from 3 to 5 pm 🥕
NEW THIS YEAR
ROYAL CHRISTMAS TREE - Place Émile Hamilius
This year, the Royal Christmas Tree lights up Place Émile Hamilius and, for the occasion, it has donned its finest decorations and even houses a magical little train that whirls around to its top 🎄
This beautiful tree will be accompanied by a few chalets to keep you fed, of course 😉
Christmas markets each have their own schedule: depending on the location, some open in the morning, while others stay open later. Remember to check the opening hours before you go!
