A night at the museum?

Looking for an activity sheltered from the cold or heat that’s also fun and fascinating? Head to the National Museum of Natural History of Luxembourg in the heart of the Grund! Across two floors of permanent exhibitions, set off to discover nature, animals, the evolution of our planet and all the little world around us. And watch out: some of the creatures look so realistic that you almost expect to see them move. At this point, you might even wonder whether the director of Night at the Museum didn’t stop by the Naturmusée for a little visit… Because the bear on the second floor clearly has something to tell us. But the museum doesn’t stop at its exhibition rooms! Planetarium, workshops, lectures, concerts, meet-ups, activities for young and old… the programme offers plenty of different ways to discover science. On Tuesday evenings, it’s time for late-night openings: the museum opens its doors in the evening for scientific and cultural events in a friendly atmosphere. At the planetarium, settle in beneath the large dome and set off to explore the constellations, planets and wonders of the universe thanks to an immersive 360° show. In the Naturmusée gardens, in the heart of the Grund, science quite literally gets some fresh air! Between biodiversity, scientific research, workshops and activities, you can also simply come and take a stroll, read or enjoy lunch in peace and quiet. And to extend your visit, take a little detour through the shop or settle in at the cafeteria, which offers local and organic products, among other things. Younger visitors can also discover De Panewippchen, the Naturmusée’s magazine in Luxembourgish, and set off to meet animals, plants, nature… and even the universe! In short, a day out with family, friends or even on your own, where you can learn plenty without feeling like you’ve gone back to school. And that gets our seal of approval!
