Regular Guided Tour: Viaggio in Italia
Like a travel itinerary, the exhibition takes you through emblematic cities and regions of Italy. Showcasing works spanning four centuries, including idealized landscapes inspired by antiquity, many views of cities and squares, or urban life scenes, all originating from the Gallerie d’Italia collections (museums of Intesa Sanpaolo bank). These artworks share southern light, architectural elegance, the charm of landscapes, and a remarkable presence of antiquity, also illustrated by Roman-inspired sculptures and authentic Greek vases from Apulia.
This pictorial journey begins in Naples: paintings and watercolors from the 18th and 19th centuries depict the famous Gulf of Naples, the picturesque old town, Roman houses from Pompeii, and surprising details like one of the numerous caves beneath the city. The journey continues through Milan, Rome, Florence, and Venice, with artworks by notable artists such as Gaspar van Wittel and Canaletto.
Visitors of all ages can enjoy an interactive space to create their own 'capriccio' as a digital collage from elements of the exhibited works. A drawing area and a quiz brochure complete the experience for families.
